Creating Timeless Spaces,
One Project At A Time

Where Imagination
Meets Structure

Architecture is a journey of collaboration and creativity, where purpose, beauty, and function interplay to create a space that has a lasting impact and reflects your personal, corporate, or cultural identity.

It’s the junction where innovative ideas meet mindful design to produce structures and environments that transcend expectations and shape how we see our lives and navigate our landscape.

At JTR Architect we have a passion for the outdoors and a profound admiration for the visionaries in our field. Drawing inspiration and philosophy from iconic architect Frank Lloyd Wright, known for his belief in organic architecture, we share his commitment to creating harmony between what is human-made and the natural environment. Wright's principles of seamlessly integrating structures with their natural surroundings left an indelible mark on our approach to the medium.

Inspired by the notion that design should be in sync with both the human experience and the environment, the work of JTR Architect consistently strives for this delicate balance.

"Clackamas County Children's Commission has worked with JTR Architect on multiple projects over the past 5+ years.  We have found Tim to be very knowledgeable about not only building design but also zoning, permitting, and processes.  He has led our team in both new builds, as well as renovations, including working with various funding streams and timelines.  Tim has also taken it upon himself to familiarize himself with our unique industry guidelines in order to meet them in his designs.  Finally, Tim is just a great guy to work with and our staff have come to think of him as one of us!"

"We had a great experience working with Tim Richard as our architect.  We used him in three phases of our multi-year home remodeling project.  He listened to our needs and ideas; helped us create a coherent vision; and when remodeling challenges arose, remained flexible and creative in achieving that vision. He brought a superb sense of color and style to the projects. He worked extremely well with our contractor and the process always felt collaborative."

"I have collaborated with Tim on a wide variety of projects and find him to be a highly creative, responsive, and talented architect. His connection to the land and his ability to arrive at solutions that truly meet the client’s needs sets him apart from many.  Through over more than 20 years of work together, Tim has proven to be an insightful leader as well as a proactive team member. Our collaborations include conference centers, places of interpretation and public facing projects throughout the northwest within which Tim has consistently delivered buildings of the highest quality."

"We first worked with Tim Richard over 25 years ago on our first remodel of our 1908 Craftsman home.  Knowing we wanted to maintain the character of our home, Tim helped us begin the process of updating while working with and monitoring the quality of our contractor’s work. When we decided to do an extensive remodel a couple years ago to add an upstairs bathroom, push out walls, add a fireplace, and do an earthquake upgrade, we knew Tim would be able to help us.  He worked closely with our contractor, engineer, and interior designer to help us turn our first home into the home of our dreams!"
